AAGEP Institutions
The Alabama Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AAGEP) was formed in 1998 with the same partner institutions as The Alabama Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (ALSAMP) in order to promote underrepresented minority students obtaining graduate degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), particularly groups that historically have been underrepresented. Since the beginning of the alliance in 1998, the AAGEP Project has seen a doubling of STEM Ph.D. graduates, its membership has increased to twelve and includes all of the major colleges and universities in Alabama.
