Each spring, students and faculty from Alabama Alliance institutions participate in a conference and scientific exhibit competition.  These conferences were designed to:

1. provide an opportunity for Alliance students to meet and share successes and solutions to problems faced by minority students in the pursuit of careers in science, engineering and mathematics;
2. provide a forum to showcase ALSAMP student research;
3. motivate ALSAMP students to pursue Ph.D. degrees in science, engineering and mathematics;
4. expose ALSAMP students to successful minority scientists, engineers and leaders in the scientific community; and
5. provide an opportunity for ALSAMP faculty to exchange ideas and plan curriculum reform.
