The UAB National Alumni Society hosted the 7th annual Uncork Education on Sunday, November 8.
This popular wine and beer tasting event had a silent auction for guests and benefited UAB student scholarships. This year, the generosity of those who attended Uncork Education allowed the NAS to raise more than $48,500 to go towards UAB student scholarships, gifts, and grants.
In 2014-2015, the UAB National Alumni Society had the opportunity to provide approximately $775,000 in scholarships, gifts, and grants back to the University. The success of Uncork Education and the support of our sponsors and guests allow us to continue to give money to deserving students and sincerely express our gratitude to everyone for their continued support as we continue to closer to reaching our goal of providing more than $1 million in scholarships by 2020.
The evening gave our guests a chance to taste wines from around the globe from International Wines and local craft beer from Cahaba Brewing. They also had an opportunity to purchase a key that may open a fully stocked bar that included an assortment of premium liquor. The 2015 Blazer Wine label design was also unveiled and bottles were available to be purchased. Eric Essix provided live music.
