Dr. Tara Foster is a native of Birmingham who graduated from Ramsay High School. She is a lifelong learner and earned a B.S. in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from Alabama State University, a M.Ed. in ECE from the University of Montevallo, a Ph.D. in Leadership in Educational Administration from Capella University, a M.A.Ed. in Educational Administration from UAB, and will finish her Ed.S. in Adult Education from Auburn University in May 2015.

She taught in the Mobile County, Shelby County, and Midfield City school systems. In 2007, while working in the Midfield school district, she became a National Board Certified teacher, certified in the area of Generalist/Early Childhood. Since August 2009, she has served as an Elementary Math and Science Specialist for AMSTI-UAB. She also currently serves as a Professor at Concordia University, an instructor for the TeacherReady program based at the University of West Florida, and an Instructional Consultant and Trainer for professional organizations. Dr. Foster is passionate about teaching and believes that it is her Calling. She is a firm believer in the AMSTI philosophy and loves the growth she has seen in the students and teachers with whom she works.
