  • Peer Academic Coaching matches interested students with a trained peer coach for guidance on how to effectively study for UAB courses.
  • Supplemental Instruction
  • SI provides an out-of-class, peer led, study group which is set up to help you grasp both the concepts and the applications provided in your course material.
  • TRIO Academic Services
  • TRIO Academic Services is a Student Support Services program that is a fully funded program by the U.S. Department of Education to assist students who are first-generation college students, have a disability, or meet federal income requirements to achieve academic success.
  • UAB Tutoring Resources
  • UAB is committed to your academic success. In addition to the academic support programs offered through the Office for Student Academic Success, there are a range of individual tutoring options available.

Personal Development

  • Campus Ministry Association (CMA)
  • The collaborative ministry of the CMA involves caring for the total well-being of persons in the context of a community of peace, justice, and social responsibility
  • Counseling & Wellness Center
  • Free, confidential counseling related to personal growth, human development, and interpersonal relationships to UAB students.
  • Safe Zone
  • Safe Zone provides a visible network of volunteers for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and other students seeking information and assistance
  • Student Involvement
  • UAB student involvement is about getting involved, meeting new people, making a difference on campus, in Birmingham and in the world!
  • UAB Campus Ride & Escort
  • UAB Campus Ride is designed to provide convenient on-campus transportation to all UAB faculty and staff.  
  • UAB Peer Mentoring Program for Freshmen
  • The UAB Peer Mentoring Program will keep first year students connected to the university and supported through their transition to UAB during the time immediately following Goin’ Green New Student Orientation through the end of their first semester.
  • UAB Student Veterans of America Organization
  • UAB SVA is committed to providing peer-to-peer networks for veterans, coordinating campus activities, providing pre-professional networking and generally providing a touchstone for student-veterans.
  • Veterans Services
  • Veterans Services works closely with the Department of Veterans Affairs to offer various entitlement programs to students who have served in the military on active duty, are members of the Reserves or National Guard, or are dependents or spouses of veterans.
  • Women's Counseling Center
  • The Women’s Counseling Center at UAB provides confidential personal counseling services (non-academic) to UAB students. Licensed professional counselors can assist you in dealing with issues such as eating disorders, relationship problems, rape, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, or managing your stress.
