  • How can I become a member of the Black Graduate Student Association of UAB?

    Qualifications for the BGSA membership include being a part - or full-time graduate student enrolled at UAB with an active interest in contributing to the BGSA.

  • What are the membership fees?

    Dues paid by our members are used to fund, enhance and promote the professional and scholarly interests and needs of its members through a variety of activities. Dues are currently $20.00/academic year or $10.00/semester. 

    Dues can be paid at any of our general body meetings.

  • What disciplines are eligible for membership?

    All disciplines classified by UAB’s Graduate School as graduate program study are eligible for membership. We also welcome all of our professional higher education students and all others with an active interest in contributing to the BGSA.

  • When are the general body meeting dates?

    General body meeting dates and locations are determined by the executive board of the BGSA and are announced through our listserve. Meeting dates can also be found on our calendar.

  • What leadership positions are available in the BGSA?

    The BGSA is currently seeking to fulfill the following positions:
