1. When will the excess aid be available in my BlazerBucks account?
The aid will be in your BlazerBucks account and available for you to use on Wednesday, August 20, 2014.

2. Do I have to spend these BlazerBucks on books?

Though this transfer was developed specifically to assist students with book purchases prior to the start of classes, students may use the BlazerBucks at an eligible vendor. Visit the CampusCard website for a full listing of on-campus and off-campus locations.

3. What if I have over $500 in excess aid?

If you have over $500 in excess aid beyond your student account balance, only $500 will be transferred to your BlazerBucks account. The remainder will be available for a direct deposit refund during the first week of classes.

4. May I transfer BlazerBucks back to my student account so that I can receive a direct deposit refund?

No. Once the aid has been transferred to your BlazerBucks account, you cannot transfer it back to your student account.

5. Why did UAB make this policy change?

UAB administrators listened to students, who wanted a better way to access to their excess financial aid in order to purchase books prior to the start of classes.

7. When I click the opt-out form link, why do I receive the "A break in attempt has been detected!" error message?

You may receive this error message if you are already logged in to BlazerNET and then try to complete the form. To access the form, please log out of BlazerNET, close your browsers, and then follow the link to the form.

8. What is the opt-out deadline?

The opt-out deadline is Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at noon.

9. Does this BlazerBucks for Books policy apply to graduate students?

No, this policy applies only to undergraduate students.

10. If I decide to opt out of the program, do I have to opt out online each semester?

No, once you opt out online, the opt out is permanent unless you decide to re-enter the system and remove the opt out.
