Building Campaign

The University of Alabama at Birmingham is embarking on a bold initiative to build a new, state of the art, 109,000 square foot facility for the Charles and Patsy Collat School of Business, the Bill L. Harbert Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, the Regions Institute for Financial Literacy, the Healthcare Leadership Academy, and the Center for Sales Leadership.

This facility will be the cornerstone for a new innovation and entrepreneurship district in Birmingham focused on expanding technology commercialization efforts to attain positive impacts on economic development for the community, State and beyond.

The new facility will allow the Collat School of Business and the Harbert Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship to:

Support excellence in teaching, research, and service by utilizing leading-edge technologies and multi-dimensional classroom spaces that include breakout rooms for team projects, showrooms for entrepreneurial projects, labs for behavioral research and sales presentations, and study rooms for students.

Facilitate a sense of community, affiliation, and connection to UAB for students and future alumni through a student commons area and courtyard plaza where open common space is optimal for social interactions and leadership activities.

Remain competitive with other business schools by providing world-class facilities and technologies that attract top-notch students, faculty, and employers to recruit and hire students.

Attract and support the next generation of college students where student support services and leadership opportunities are valued and available through the offices of Career Services, Student Success Center, Student Organizations, and the Regions Institute for Financial Literacy.

Create opportunities to grow programs including business training for emerging healthcare leaders and MBA programs for doctors and healthcare practitioners.
