As a leader in the electrical distribution industry and Chairman of Mayer Electric Supply Company, Inc., Charles A. Collat Sr. has raised the profile of UAB’s ID Program by encouraging manufacturers and other distributors to contribute to the endowed program enrichment fund for ID education. In addition, he and his wife, Patsy, established the Ben S. Weil Endowed Chair of Industrial Distribution, which honors the entrepreneur who founded Mayer Electric Supply and led its remarkable growth during the Great Depression.
