Why an MBA?
I decided to pursue an MBA at the University of Alabama at Birmingham to invest in my career. As a Political Science major at Hampden-Sydney, I was not exposed to accounting, finance, marketing, and other business-related classes that many others in my industry have studied. I want to think differently about the way I run my business, and feel confident that the knowledge I acquire will give me a competitive advantage as I head into the second-half of my career.
The thought of attaining an MBA while being able to continue to work full time is especially appealing to me. I will lose no time and tenure with my corporation, while gaining a new perspective on business which I hope will be beneficial to me for the remainder of my career.
