Plans Upon Graduation

I plan to continue working at Warren, Averett, Kimbrough & Marino in the Consulting Division, and will begin to pursue a Masters in Accounting (MAc) here at UAB in Fall 2009. Upon completion of the MAc program in August 2010, I plan to sit for the CPA exam and then join the Firm as a full-time staff accountant with four years of relevent work experience.

Highlights of My UAB Experience

I have really enjoyed getting to know my peers and my professors. This has been best facilitated by my experiences with Beta Alpha Psi. Thanks to Dr. Debbie Tanju, I began attending BAP meetings my very first year at UAB. I was able to meet many students that were older than me that could give me advice on which classes to take and how to approach difficult courses. I have also really enjoyed serving with the other officers this year as VP of BAP. I think the most valuable aspect of BAP was the opportunity to meet other professionals in a more relaxed setting. This environment helped me to gain confidence that has been invaluable to me in my work at Warren Averett.

Internship Experiences:

  • I have had experience in a wide variety of both accounting and finance related projects, including cash flow projections, internal controls assessments, and business planning.
  • I have been an intern with Warren Averett Kimbrough & Marino in the Consulting Division since October of 2006.
