Georgia Luch, 22, of Hoboken, New Jersey, is using her business skills to transform her love for swimming into a unique career. Her start-up company “Eau La La Entertainment” uses elements of synchronized swimming and dance to create a one-of-a-kind performance for special events and private parties.
Luch developed a love for swimming early and started synchronized swimming in the seventh grade. She was recruited after high school to UAB on a synchronized swimming scholarship. While at UAB, she is pursuing her interest in business and majoring in marketing because it “allows more creativity”.
Luch has already wet her feet, in this case tail, in the entertainment industry as a mermaid in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie “On Stranger Tides” including stars Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz. “I took the 2010 school year off and had the time of my life working two different jobs doing what I love – swimming!,” says Luch. “After that, it hit me that it is possible to make a career out of doing what you love. I combined my love for performing and my interest in business into my company, Eau La La Entertainment.” Find more about Eau La La Entertainment on facebook.
When asked what surprised her most about Alabama, Luch responded “I was surprised by the love southerners have for sweet tea and college football! I only enjoy the latter.” Luch is scheduled to graduate Spring 2012; surely by then, she will have cultivated a taste for sweet tea...probably just needs a little more sugar in it!
