$100,000 gift from Dora and Sanjay Singh encourages research and creates scholarships.

DoraSanjayThe UAB School of Business has received a $100,000 endowment gift from Dr. Sanjay K. Singh, Ph.D., and his wife, Dora Eugenia Pineda-Rivera.

The Dora and Sanjay Singh Endowed Research Fund will support faculty research, student scholarships, and student activities within the Information Systems program in the UAB School of Business. International students are also eligible for support from the endowment.

“The School of Business is grateful to Sanjay for his dedication to the School through his service as an excellent teacher-scholar and with his gift to our Information Systems Department. It is a great vote of confidence in our program when a faculty member makes a substantial commitment to the future of the School,” says Dean David R. Klock, Ph.D.

Dr. Singh is Vice President of Business Development at CTS (Computer Technology Solutions) in Birmingham and an Associate Professor of Information Systems. He specializes in the use of information technology for strategic planning and implementation and teaches primarily in the Master of Business Administration program. He has developed and implemented a study abroad program to Europe, established partnerships with area businesses, and served as an advisor to student organizations.

Dr. Singh and the School will seek additional gifts for the endowment. Former students, especially, are welcome to contribute. Additional contributions could lead to the endowment supporting a professorship or chair.



ABOUT DR. SANJAY SINGH: During the past 20 years, Dr. Singh has consulted with numerous Fortune 500 companies and private organizations, including Johnson & Johnson, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, UAB Health System, Duke Energy, AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, and IBM. He serves on the board of Rotary Club of Downtown Birmingham, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Founders Investment Bank, and TechBirmingham. He is president of Alabama India Business Partnership, a trade organization that promotes economic development activities between India and the state of Alabama. He is the past President of Society for Information Managers (SIM) – Alabama Chapter. Dr. Singh has lectured in 10 countries and studied more than 200 companies in North America, Europe, and Asia. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems and Strategic Management from the University of Georgia
