Management Scholarships

Faculty Scholarships in Management
A scholarship valued at $500, is awarded annually to a UAB School of Business student majoring in Management. The recipient must have at least a 3.25 GPA and have taken between 60-90 hours of coursework. Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply.

Collat 4-Year Scholarships

Today's businesses require a workforce that has demonstrated success in working with people of diverse backgrounds.  To meet this need, the Collat School of Business is committed to providing rewarding opportunities to students who come from a wide variety of backgrounds.  The Collat School of Business is building upon UAB's success in attracting a diverse student body; in 2009 UAB  ranked 3rd nationally in the Diverse Student Population Category by Princeton Review-the only Alabama university to score in this category. To broaden this foundation, the Collat School of Business provides opportunities to diverse students and is offering 20 scholarships to recruit high achieving, under-represented students through the Collat 4-Year Scholarship Program.

Guidelines

A. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Applicants for the Collat 4-Year Scholarships must be admitted to the Collat School of Business as an incoming freshmen or transferring from another institution. Preference will be given to students who bring diversity to the Collat School of Business student body to include diverse racial, ethnic, economic, and geographic backgrounds. Additionally, preference will be given to first-generation college students and to students who demonstrate need along with academic ability.

2. Applicants should demonstrate solid academic promise or achievement. Entering freshmen need a minimum grade point average of 3.25 in coursework completed prior to the time of application AND at least a 24 ACT score. Students transferring from another institution of higher education should have earned a minimum 3.0 in all college course work and have completed at least 24 hours of course credit. For transfer students with less than 24 hours, the criteria for entering freshman and transfer students must be met-3.25 High School GPA, 24 ACT, and 3.0 College GPA as minimum requirements.

B. APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURES

1. Applications for consideration should be submitted to the Collat School of Business Office of Undergraduate Advising by December 1, 2013.  

2. Selection of scholarship recipient(s) will be made by the Collat School of Business Collat 4-Year Scholarship Committee in accordance with these guidelines.

C. ADMINISTRATION OF SCHOLARSHIP

1. The Collat Scholarship is a 4-year award for students who maintain full-time status (at least a 12-hour course load) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  In order to maintain the scholarship up to four years, students must continue to pursue an undergraduate business degree.  This scholarship is designed to encourage all recipients to complete their undergraduate degree in four years.

2. The annual scholarship award will be applied toward the recipient's tuition and fees.  Any scholarship funds in excess of the amount required for tuition and fees may be disbursed to the student for books, supplies, room and board, or other school-related expenses.

3. The Collat School of Business Collat 4-Year Scholarship Committee will award up to 20 four-year scholarships of $5,000 each to be distributed each year in two equal amounts over fall and spring semesters ($2,500 each term).

4.  Recipients of the Collat 4-Year Scholarship are also eligible to receive other forms of student financial aid for which they may qualify.

Graduate Scholarships

Scholarships available through the UAB School of Business to graduate students:

W. Jack Duncan Endowed Scholarship
Applicants for the W. Jack and Judy Duncan Endowed Scholarship in Business, must be currently enrolled in, or admitted to, the UAB Master of Business Administration Program. Preference will be given to first-year students in the program.  Applicants should demonstrate solid academic promise or achievement and have earned at least an overall 3.5 grade point average in coursework completed prior to the time of application.  Preference will be given to applicants who are deserving of financial assistance as determined by the UAB School of Business Scholarship Selection Committee based on the information provided by the applicants on the UAB School of Business Scholarship Application.

Ernst & Young Recruiting Scholarship in Accounting
Applicants must be pursuing the M.Ac. at UAB and should demonstrate academic excellence. The scholarship can be renewed if the recipient maintains eligibility requirements.

Joe & Louise Robertson Scholarship
A scholarship of $2,000 is awarded to a senior in accounting or a graduate student in accounting.

UAB Accounting Alumni Scholarship
Scholarships valued at $500 each will be awarded to accounting undergraduate and graduate students. Recipients must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA.

MBA Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship
A $500-$1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a current MBA student. Scholarship is awarded on academic merit and financial need. Must have completed at least one semester to apply.

Marketing Scholarships

AMA/UAB Scholarship in Business
A $500 scholarship will be awarded annually, provided the funds are available, to a full-time student enrolled in Industrial Distribution or Marketing within the School of Business. Applicants must have a 2.5 or higher cumulative grade point average and demonstrate solid academic promise. Separate application is needed and deadline varies. Ayers Scholarship in Marketing
A scholarship valued at $500 is awarded to a Marketing major with a 3.0 minimum GPA. Applicants must demonstrate solid academic promise or achievement and a balance in course work, work hours and personal /community activities.

Harvey C. Smith Scholarship in Marketing
A $500 scholarship awarded annually to a currently enrolled marketing major within the UAB School of Business. The recipient must have at least a 3.2 overall GPA prior to application. Applicants must demonstrate leadership and should support the university and School of Business through membership in the UAB Chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Management/Marketing Faculty Scholarship
$500 is awarded annually to a UAB School of Business student majoring in either Management or Marketing. The recipient must have at least a 3.25 GPA overall and have taken between 60 – 90 semester hours of course work. Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply.

Powers Scholarship in Marketing
One annual scholarship is awarded for $500 to a currently enrolled or admitted Marketing major in the UAB School of Business. Applicants must show academic promise, have a 3.0 GPA in all course work, and be active in student activities. Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply.
 
 

Information Systems Scholarships

AmSouth IS Scholars Practicum
A scholarship in the amount of $4,000 is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in IS with a minimum 3.0 GPA overall. In addition, $18,000 is paid for an on site practicum (20 hours per week for 40 weeks).

Computer Technology Solutions
CTS provides $2,500 in scholarships to students who major in Information Systems and who demonstrate capabilities and aptitude for systems development and emerging IT issues. CTS is one of Birmingham's premier consulting firms for IT development and systems development, especially in emerging technologies and business intelligence systems. Dr. Sanjay Singh is a founding member of CTS and an IS faculty member at UAB.

Information Systems Advisory Board Scholarship
Council  scholarship of variable amounts are awarded to entering freshman, currently enrolled or transfer student in the School of Business who are interested in the field of information systems.

Information Systems Junior Advisory Council Endowed Scholarship
Applicants for the Information Systems Junior Advisory Council Endowed Scholarship, must be currently enrolled in, or admitted to, the Information Systems program at the UAB School of Business or must be admitted to UAB with an interest in pursuing Information Systems as a major.  Applicants should be deserving high school students planning to major in Information Systems. High School applicants must have earned at least a 3.2 grade point average.   Applicants should demonstrate solid academic promise or achievement and have earned at least an overall 3.2 grade point average in coursework related to their major and a 3.0 overall grade point average while attending UAB as a full-time student.   Preference will be given to applicants who are deserving of financial assistance as determined by the UAB School of Business Scholarship Selection Committee based on the information provided by the applicants on the UAB School of Business Scholarship Application.  Preference will also be given to those applicants who have demonstrated a commitment to the community through public service.

Katherine Bridges Freeland Endowed Scholarship
A scholarship of a variable amount is awarded to an IS or FN major with a 3.0 GPA overall. Low income or minority preferred.

Katherine L. McCarl Maisel Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship will be awarded to a senior student majoring in Accounting or Information Systems (with an interest in auditing or computer auditing). Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA in any completed coursework, demonstrate strong leadership skills and human management skills. It is preferred that the Accounting majors have completed AC 300. Applicants must be courageous and positive in their attitude toward life.

PMP Program Fund Scholarship
A scholarship of a variable amount is awarded to a full-time information systems major in the School of Business.  The recipient must have a 3.0/4.0 GPA overall and needs to demonstrate interest and potential in the project management profession.

Project Management Institute Scholarship
The Birmingham Chapter of the PMI provides scholarships to students who major in Information Systems and who demonstrate skills and abilities in project management. The funds are generated through the UAB IS / PMI Project Management Certificate Program which is offered periodically to the public.

Protective Life Corporation Information Systems Scholarship
A scholarship of $2,500 is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in information systems with a 2.5 GPA overall. Internship is encouraged. Low income minority preferred.

Regions' IS Scholar Internship
A scholarship, valued at $4,000 plus $18,000 for an on-site practicum, is awarded to a student with information systems major in the School of Business.  Must be a junior or senior with a 3.0/4.0 GPA or better.

Society for Information Management (SIM) Scholarship
A scholarship valued at $2500 is awarded to an entering freshman, currently enrolled or transfer student in the School of Business with an interest in information systems as a major.

William D. Burg Memorial Scholarship
In May 2006, Dr. William (Bill) Burg was tragically killed in a car accident. Family, students and friends immediately established a memorial scholarship in his name because of the unique care and mentoring he provided students. Gifts and pledges were sufficient to create an endowment for an annual scholarship to an IS student who exhibits character and shows potential in IS. The initial scholarship of $1,250 was awarded in the spring of 2007 to Angela Dennis, a very worthy recipient.

 

Industrial Distribution Scholarships

Charles & Patsy Collat Endowed Scholarship in Industrial Distribution 
An annual scholarship is awarded to an entering freshman, transfer or currently enrolled student who designates Industrial Distribution as their major. High school GPA, ACT or SAT scores, participation in extra-curricular activities, financial need, and career goals will be considered. Currently enrolled ID students with good academic standing, commitment to completing degree requirements in ID, participation in extracurricular activities and community service will also be considered for the scholarship.

Chris L. Jones Industrial Distribution Scholarship
Scholarships of variable amounts are awarded to entering freshmen, transfer or currently enrolled students who designate Industrial Distribution as their major. High school GPA, ACT or SAT scores, participation in extra-curricular activities, financial need, and career goals will be considered. Currently enrolled ID students with good academic standing, commitment to completing degree requirements in ID, participation in extracurricular activities and community service will also be considered for the scholarship

Consolidated Electrical Distributors (CED) Industrial Distribution Scholarship
Scholarships of variable amounts are awarded to entering freshmen, transfer or currently enrolled students who designate Industrial Distribution as their major. High school GPA, ACT or SAT scores, participation in extra-curricular activities, financial need, and career goals will be considered. Currently enrolled ID students with good academic standing, commitment to completing degree requirements in ID, participation in extracurricular activities and community service will also be considered for the scholarship.
 
Cooper Industries Industrial Distribution Scholarship
Scholarships of variable amounts are awarded to entering freshmen, transfer or currently enrolled students who designate Industrial Distribution as their major. High school GPA, ACT or SAT scores, participation in extra-curricular activities, financial need, and career goals will be considered. Currently enrolled ID students with good academic standing, commitment to completing degree requirements in ID, participation in extracurricular activities and community service will also be considered for the scholarship.

Eaton Electrical Industrial Distribution Scholarship
Two scholarships in the amount of $2500.00 are awarded to two Industrial Distribution students selected by Eaton Electrical. Currently enrolled ID students with good academic standing, commitment to completing degree requirements in ID, participation in extracurricular activities and community service will be considered by Eaton Electrical for the scholarship.

GE Industrial Distribution Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship(s) is awarded to an entering freshman that designates ID as their major in the UAB School of Business. High school GPA, ACT or SAT scores, participation in extra-curricular activities, financial need and career goals will be considered. Currently enrolled ID students with good academic standing, commitment to completing degree requirements in ID, extra-curricular activities, and community service will also be considered for the scholarship. Recipients must earn a minimum of 24 semester hours per academic year to remain eligible and to re-apply in following years but will be limited to four academic years. The value of the award and the number of awards are variable.

Hubbell Foundation Industrial Distribution Scholarship

Scholarships of variable amounts are awarded to entering freshmen, transfer or currently enrolled students who designate Industrial Distribution as their major. High school GPA, ACT or SAT scores, participation in extra-curricular activities, financial need, and career goals will be considered. Currently enrolled ID students with good academic standing, commitment to completing degree requirements in ID, participation in extracurricular activities and community service will also be considered for the scholarship.

Jackson Endowed Scholarship in Industrial Distribution
Scholarship(s) is awarded to a transfer or current UAB School of Business student majoring in Industrial Distribution. The recipient must complete a minimum of 24 hours during the academic year and maintain a 3.0 GPA. The recipient must show active participation in extracurricular and/or community service activities. Recipients may reapply for one year if they maintain a 3.0 GPA. The value of the award and the number of awards are variable.

O’Neal Steel, Inc. Industrial Distribution Scholarship
Two scholarships in the amount of $4,000.00 are awarded to two Industrial Distribution students selected by O’Neal Steel, Inc. Currently enrolled ID students with good academic standing, commitment to completing degree requirements in ID, participation in extracurricular activities and community service will be considered by O’Neal Steel, Inc. for the scholarship.

Osram Sylvania ID Scholarship
Scholarship(s) of a variable amount is awarded to entering freshmen or currently enrolled ID majors. High school GPA,  ACT or SAT scores, extracurricular activities and career goals are considered. Currently enrolled ID students must maintain a 3.0/4.0 GPA, commitment to their degree requirements and participation in community service. Amount awarded is based upon GPA.

Perry Supply Industrial Distribution Scholarship

Two scholarships in the amount of $2000.00 are awarded to two Industrial Distribution students selected by Perry Supply. Currently enrolled ID students with good academic standing, commitment to completing degree requirements in ID, participation in extracurricular activities and community service will be considered by Perry Supply for the scholarship.

Thomas & Betts T. Kevin Dunnigan Endowed ID Scholarship

Scholarships of variable amounts are awarded to entering freshmen, transfer or currently enrolled students who designate Industrial Distribution as their major. High school GPA, ACT or SAT scores, participation in extra-curricular activities, financial need, and career goals will be considered. Currently enrolled ID students with good academic standing, commitment to completing degree requirements in ID, participation in extracurricular activities and community service will also be considered for the scholarship.

Finance Scholarships

CFA Society of Alabama
This scholarship is awarded annually to seniors wishing to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.  All those selected to receive the scholarship receive a waiver of all CFA Level I fees and CFA Society registration fees. The value of each scholarship is $760 and we may award up to ten scholarships per year.

Colonial Properties Trust Scholarship Program
An annual scholarship in the form of a rent-free one-bedroom apartment for a full time student in the School of Business for an entire calendar year. Candidates must have a major in the field of finance.

Colonial Properties Trust Business Scholars/Practicum
A scholarship valued at $10,000 plus a practicum is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in finance.

Fetherston Scholarship in Finance
An annual scholarship for $1,500 will be awarded to a currently enrolled or admitted finance major within the School of Business. The recipient must have a minimum of a 3.0 overall grade point average, demonstrate leadership, and be active in student activities.

Green and Gold Student Managed Investment Fund Scholarship
These scholarships are funded by earnings from the Green and Gold Student Managed Investment Fund and vary in amount according to fund performance.  The scholarships are awarded to those students involved with the Green and Gold Fund.
 
J. Stanley Mackin Scholarship in Finance
Scholarships with variable values are awarded to finance majors within the School of Business. The recipient must have a 2.5 or higher overall grade point average and must demonstrate financial need. He/she must also be involved in student activities, show leadership potential, and display excellent interpersonal and social skills. The value of the award and the number of awards are variable.

Katherine Bridges Freeland Endowed Scholarship
A scholarship of a variable amount is awarded to a finance or information systems major who is currently enrolled or admitted with a 3.0 GPA overall. Low income or minority preferred.

Regions Bank Endowed Scholarship in Business
A scholarship will be awarded to a student currently enrolled in, or admitted to, a degree-granting program in the UAB School of Business. Selection is based upon academic promise, leadership potential, merit and high moral character. The applicant must have and retain a 3.0 GPA. Recipients are eligible to reapply in subsequent years as long as they continue to meet the requirements.

UA System Scholarship in Finance
A scholarship valued at $1000 is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in finance with a 3.0 overall.

David J. Vanzandt Scholarship in Finance
$250 is awarded to a UAB School of Business student majoring in Finance. Applicants must have completed 12 hours in-residence, have a minimum 3.0 GPA on all completed coursework, have a proven record of community service, and submit a 200-250 word essay on how he/she plans to use a college education to further benefit his/her community.

Economics Scholarships

Culver Scholarship in Economics
An annual scholarship for $500 will be awarded to a full-time student enrolled or admitted as an economics major in either the School of Business or the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Applicants must have a 3.0 overall grade point average and demonstrate financial need. Applicants should also demonstrate leadership and be active in student activities.
 
Economagic Scholarship in Economics
An annual scholarship for $500 will be awarded to a currently enrolled or admitted student majoring in economics in the School of Business or the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher overall grade point average and demonstrate financial need.

Petrov Scholarship in Economics
An annual scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student enrolled as a junior or senior economics major in the School of Business. Applicants must have a 3.0 overall grade point average and consideration will be given to students involved in school-wide extracurricular activities. Applicants should also demonstrate leadership and be active in student activities.

Accounting Scholarships

Accounting Advisory Council Scholarship
A scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in accounting with at least a 3.0 GPA overall who is enrolled in or has completed AC 300.

Alabama Society of CPA’s Educational Foundation Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $1,500, is awarded to full-time accounting major in the School of Business.  The recipient must have completed AC 310, have a 3.0/4.0 GPA overall and in all accounting courses completed, and have at least one full year left in school (4th or 5th year).  For further information, contact the School of Business at (205) 934-8813.

American Society of Women Accountants
A scholarship, valued at $1,000 is awarded to a senior in accounting with at least a 3.0 GPA overall and in accounting. The recipient must have completed 60 hours of coursework and have completed AC 300. Need is considered. ASWA application, two letters of recommendation, transcripts, and a short essay are required. Deadline varies. Contact Dr. Nell Adkins in the fall semester.

Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Scholarship
A scholarship is awarded to a currently enrolled or admitted student who is interested in forensic accounting with a minimum 2.5 overall.

Barfield, Murphy, Shank and Smith Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $1,000 is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in accounting with a minimum 3.0 GPA who is enrolled in or has completed AC 300.

Becker/Convisor CPA Review Scholarship
Becker CPA Review Course is awarded to a graduating senior planning a career in public accounting. GPA is important. The Accounting Scholarship Committee must receive a letter of interest by February 1. The number of awards is variable.

Bernard S. Steiner, Jr. Endowed Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA in any coursework completed, attend full time, be a junior or senior and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to students majoring in accounting who have completed AC 300, although the scholarship may be awarded to finance, economics and information systems majors also.

Birmingham Chapter of the Alabama Society of CPAs Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $2,000 is awarded to a full-time accounting majors entering his/her senior year. Recipients must have earned and maintain a 3.0 GPA in all coursework, and have completed AC 300.

Birmingham Chapter of the IMA Scholarship
Two scholarships, valued at $2,500 each, are awarded an undergraduate accounting major or a Master of Accounting student.  They should intend to pursue a career in managerial accounting or financial management and show an interest in attaining the CMA or CFM designation. Recipients must have completed Accounting 300 and maintain an overall 3.0 in accounting coursework and overall.

David E. Mackle, Sr. Endowed Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship awarded to an entering freshman or currently enrolled student majoring in accounting, who demonstrates solid academic
promise or achievement.

Dean's NABA Scholarship
A scholarship of a variable amount is awarded to an accounting major who is a member of NABA.

Debra Linton Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $2500, is awarded to an entering freshman, currently enrolled or transfer student majoring in accounting with a 3.0 overall.

Donaldson, Holman & West Scholarship
Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior currently enrolled in, or admitted to, the UAB Accounting Program.  The recipient should demonstrate solid academic promise or achievement and have earned at least an overall 3.5 grade point average.

Earle Baker Memorial Scholarship
One scholarship, valued at $1500, is awarded to a full time student majoring in accounting and entering his/her senior year. Recipient must have earned and maintain 3.0 GPA in all coursework and preferably completed AC 300.

Edmonds Scholarship
A scholarship awarded to a currently enrolled accounting or information systems major who shows financial need, academic promise and is active in school or community activities. A 3.0 GPA overall is preferred.

Education Foundation of the Alabama Society of CPAs
A scholarship is awarded to a full time junior who has completed AC 300 with a B or better, and has a minimum 3.0 accounting and overall GPA.

El Paso Corporation Accounting Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a minority accounting undergraduate, graduate or equivalent student. Recipient must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA and have a year of course work remaining.

Ernst & Young/John L. Rhoads Scholarship in Accounting
Two scholarships will be awarded to either undergraduate accounting majors entering their senior year or accounting equivalent majors. The recipients must have a minimum 3.25 accounting GPA and minimum 3.0 overall GPA. Must be involved in professional and other activities, have an interest in public accounting, and have preferably completed AC 300 and AC 310 if an accounting equivalent.

Ernst & Young Recruiting Scholarship in Accounting
Applicants must be high school seniors or junior college transfers who plan to attend UAB and pursue a degree in accounting. Applicants should demonstrate academic excellence.

Horton, Lee, Burnet, Peacock, Cleveland and Grainger Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $1000 is awarded to a junior, senior or graduate majoring in accounting with a 3.0 overall GPA.

Institute of Internal Auditors, Debbie Tanju/UAB Scholarship
A scholarship awarded to a student majoring in accounting with an interest in internal auditing. A good GPA is important.

Institute of Management Accountants Scholarship-South Birmingham Chapter
A scholarship valued at $1000 is awarded to a student majoring in accounting with an interest in managerial accounting or financial management. A minimum 3.0 is required.

Joe & Louise Robertson Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $2000, is awarded to a senior or graduate accounting student with a minimum 3.0 GPA overall.

L. Paul Kassouf & Co. Endowed Scholarship
Two scholarships with variable values are awarded to rising seniors in accounting. Recipients must earn a minimum of 27 semester hours in the academic year, have completed AC 300 and have demonstrated professional awareness and involvement. Recipients must have a minimum overall and accounting 3.0 GPA. Need is considered if there are equally deserving students.

L. Paul Kassouf Forensic Accounting Scholarship

A scholarship of variable value is awarded to a junior or senior accounting major in the School of Business with an interest in forensic accounting. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA.  Need is considered if there are equally deserving students.

Katherine L. McCarl Maisel Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship will be awarded to a senior student majoring in Accounting or Information Systems (with an interest in auditing or computer auditing). Keith Bryant Scholarship
Scholarship is awarded to an entering freshman or currently enrolled student or M.Ac. student who demonstrates solid academic promise or achievement.

KPMG Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $1,000 is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in accounting with a 3.0 overall.

NABA/Murat Tanju Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $1,000, is awarded to an accounting major who is a member of NABA.

NABA President’s Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $500, is awarded to the NABA President.

Ollie S. Powers Endowed Scholarship in Accounting
A scholarship of a variable amount is awarded to an entering freshman or currently enrolled student or MAC student with an accounting major in the School of Business who demonstrates solid academic promise or achievement.

Pearce, Bevill, Leesburg & Moore Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $2,000, is awarded to either an undergraduate accounting major entering his/her senior year, an accounting equivalent major, or a Master of Accounting student.  Recipient must have a minimum 3.25/4.0 accounting GPA, have completed AC 310, and be actively involved in at least one professional organization.  Need is considered if there are equally deserving students.

Pearce, Bevill, Leesburg & Moore/AL Society of CPA’s Minority Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $1,500, is awarded to a minority accounting major in the School of Business.  The recipient must be a full-time student, must have completed AC 310, have a 3.0/4.0 GPA overall and in all accounting courses completed, and have at least one full year left in school (4th or 5th year).

PricewaterhouseCoopers Scholarship/Jimmy Bent Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship of variable value is awarded to a currently enrolled student with an accounting major or a Master of Accounting student. Recipient must have and maintain a 3.0/4.0 GPA and preferably have completed AC 300.

PricewaterhouseCoopers Recruiting Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $2,000, is awarded to an entering freshman who has demonstrated academic excellence with a GPA of at least a 3.0/4.0 and will pursue a degree in accounting.

Protective Life Corporation/NABA Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $1,500, is awarded annually to an undergraduate accounting major at any level in the School of Business with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA in his/her accounting coursework.  The recipient must have completed at least one semester at UAB prior to receiving the scholarship and be an active member and heavily involved in the UAB student chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants.  The recipient will be eligible to intern at Protective Life Corporation based on availability of an opportunity and the company interview process.

Roberta M. and John L. Rhoads Accounting Scholarship
Scholarships of variable value are awarded to rising seniors majoring in accounting.  Recipients must have at least a 3.25/4.0 accounting GPA and a minimum 3.0/4.0 overall GPA.  Financial need, extracurricular, civic and professional activities will be considered.  The recipient must have completed AC 310.

Tommie G. Cummings Endowed Scholarship in Accounting

A scholarship of variable value is awarded to an entering freshman or currently enrolled student or MAC student who demonstrates solid academic performance or achievement.

UAB Accounting Alumni Scholarship
Scholarships of variable value are awarded to accounting undergraduate students, equivalent majors, and Master of Accounting students.  Recipients are expected to have and maintain a 3.0/4.0 GPA.

Warren, Averett, Kimbrough & Marino Scholarship
A scholarship, valued at $1,500, is awarded annually to a senior accounting major or Master of Accounting student in the School of Business with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA.
