Why is AACSB Accreditation Important?



Accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is the international seal of approval for business and accounting programs that insures the educational needs of students are met through high quality, continuous improvement and excellence in education.

Only approximately 600 business schools world-wide have achieved this seal of excellence and out of that number only 170 schools, including UAB, have achieved accreditation for both business and accounting programs. UAB was among the first 17 accounting programs to receive accreditation by AACSB the very first year the association began evaluating accounting programs in 1982.
