AFP Invites Professor Yoder to Speak on Ethical Decision Making

Assistant Professor Stephen Yoder spoke to the Alabama chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals on August 8, 2011 about ethical decision-making. AFP is a world-wide organization that advances philanthropy by enabling people and organizations to practice ethical and effective fundraising.

Yoder described the various ways that he teaches business students to reason through ethical dilemmas, and discussed how those methods might apply in the world of fundraising for nonprofit organizations.

Professor Yoder has been involved in many fundraising campaigns in Birmingham including his service as the founding chairperson of Vulcan Park Foundation, which raised the funds necessary to repair the statue of Vulcan and to renovate the surrounding Vulcan Park, between 1999 and 2004.
