Professor Nitin Sanghavi, international retail marketing expert and professor of the Manchester Business School, spoke to the Collat School of Business Marketing, Industrial Distribution and Economics faculty on global trends in retailing and lectured in Dr. Michele Bunn’s Retail Marketing and Basic Marketing classes on November 13 and 14.
Sanghavi is highly regarded through Europe and India for his retail marketing expertise. Nitin has also held or currently holds a number of visiting appointments at universities around the world, including, Professor of Retailing at Kobe University (Japan), Visiting Fellow at Monash University (Australia), Visiting Professor at University of Texas (USA), Visiting Speaker at both University of Georgia (USA) and University of St Gallen (Switzerland), Visiting Professor at University of RennÃs (France), Visiting Scholar/Professor at Harvard Business School (USA) and Visiting Professor at Great Lakes Institute of Management (India). He serves on the Board of Directors of six India-based retail companies.
As a professor of Manchester Business School, one of the premier business schools in Europe, Dr. Sanghavi founded the MBS Retail Centre and teaches primarily masters and PhD classes and leads an extensive amount of retail executive seminars.
Nitin was given the Retail Leadership Award and an award for Retail Excellence by the Asia Retail Congress in 2008 and 2009 and now sits on the Council of the Asia Retail Congress.
