I will graduate on May 9, 2009, and I can't believe my time at UAB is coming to an end! I started at UAB in 2005 with a career in business in mind but unsure of the specific path I would start my career in. Four years later, with the helpful guidance of my professors and fellow students, I am completing my Bachelor's degree with majors in Accounting and Finance. In addition, I will complete my educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam and have already passed one of the four sections of the exam. After graduation, I am getting married to my high school sweetheart, Tom Vaughn- He is also graduating from UAB in May with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and will start dental school at UAB in July. Shortly after, I will begin my career in public accounting with Ernst & Young, LLP as a Staff tax accountant.

Highlights of My UAB Experience

My time at UAB has been amazing, and I couldn't have asked for a better college experience. The professors were always willing to help and answer any questions I had, and the relationships I built with students and professionals in the Birmingham business community are invaluable. Participating in organizations such as the Green & Gold Fund and the UAB School of Business Honors Program were incredible hands-on learning experiences from which I have gained so many skills that will serve me as I pursue my career. When I chose to attend UAB four years ago, I had no idea so many incredible learning experiences and opportunites awaited me, and now, looking back, I couldn't be more happy with my decision to become a blazer!
