Class Sizes Provide a Stimulating Learning Environment

Business_Magazine_Fall08_015Small class sizes at UAB School of Business play an important role in the success of our students. Contrary to the popular image of class sizes at public universities, the average size for undergraduate business school classes at the UAB School of Business is up to 25% smaller than at comparable public universities in the southeast, according to data from the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the accrediting body for schools of business that represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.

The advantages of relatively small class sizes include greater teacher-student interaction and greater student-student interaction, contributing to the overall learning experience.  Students here have a chance to interact with faculty and form relationships that allow them to explore career interests and tailor their education to build on their talents and succeed in a career that is right for them.  The classroom size gives the faculty the ability to really get to know the students and provide one on one instruction.

In addition, a recent Princeton Review survey found that most students at the UAB School of Business were in agreement that the school had “smart classrooms,” based on the teaching equipment present in all classroom.
