Community League Basics
For the 2012-13 academic year, UAB Competitive Sports will be offering Flag Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and Indoor Soccer to the community. There will be Co-Rec (men and women), Women’s, and Men’s divisions offered for each sport. Anyone 18 years of age or older is eligible to participate. All community leagues are open to both UAB affiliated and non-UAB affiliated persons. Community League FAQs 
1) Do I need to be a student or staff member of UAB? 
No. The UAB Competitive Sports Community Leagues are open to everyone 18 years old and older. No one has to have any affiliation with UAB. Both men and women are allowed to participate. 

2) When do the seasons begin and end?
Flag Football will begin November 4th and will end sometime around mid-December, depending on weather conditions. Indoor Soccer will begin in mid-January and will end around the end of February. Both Basketball and Volleyball will begin in March and should end by mid-April. 

3) Where will the games be played? 
Flag football will be played at West campus Field (UAB Soccer Stadium) located on 11th St. South Birmingham, AL 35294. All other sports will be played at the UAB Campus Recreation Center located at 1501 University Blvd. Birmingham, AL 35294. 

4) What is the cost? 
For Flag Football and Basketball the cost will be $50 per player. For Indoor Soccer and Volleyball the cost will be $35 per player.
