The Advisory Board

The Advisory Board to the African American Studies Program at UAB consists of university and community members. The purposes of the Advisory Board are to:
  1. Assist the Director in identifying community outreach opportunities for students such internships.
  2. Suggest ways to establish links between the African American Studies Program and the Birmingham community. The Board will advise the Director on ideas for forums and conferences that might be of interest to the community and ways to involve the community in events at UAB.
  3. Advise the Director regarding effort to begin the Program's Capital Campaign to fund scholarships.
