Limited Edition Artwork

Devin Lunsford, Untitled from the series All the Place You’ve Got, 2017; archival pigment print; edition of 50; signed, numbered and dated on verso. The 2017 Friends of the DAAH limited edition artwork is made by BA photography student Devin Lunsford. The untitled photograph comes from his ongoing series, All the Place You’ve Got, which explores notions of beauty, anxiety, and the passage of time while documenting the changing landscape along Alabama’s Corridor X. “The project expresses my search for meaning within a place where I am both inhabitant and outsider,” says Lunsford, a Missouri native. “I photograph as a means to understand who I am and where I come from and use my camera to make quiet, melancholic pictures that capture beauty in the mundane.”

Lunsford has exhibited at The Mobile Museum of Art, New Orleans’ The Front, and Onomato Verlag in Düsseldorf, Germany. His work has been selected for the 38th, 39th, and 40th annual UAB Juried Student Exhibitions at The Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts, winning juror prizes in 2015 and 2016. Devin’s photographs have been featured in print by AINT-BAD, Focal Plane Magazine, and the criminology journal Deviant Behavior, and online by Lenscratch, Booooooom, Humble Arts Foundation, and Fisheye Magazine. In 2016 he was awarded the UAB Department of Art and Art History’s Edith H. Frohock Memorial Scholarship for Done Lost Too Much, a series of photographic portraits depicting recovering methamphetamine cooks at The Foundry in Bessemer, Alabama.
