Required CoursesRequirements for all Chemistry Majors
Although each track within the department has its own unique requirements, certain basic science and mathematics courses are required for all majors.
You must maintain at least a 2.0 average in all required chemistry courses and a 2.0 average in all chemistry courses taken at UAB in order to graduate. A minimum of 9 semester hours in the major at or above the 400 level must be taken at UAB. Transferred chemistry courses with a grade of "D" do not apply to the CH major. No online CH courses or labs count toward the CH major.
The current UAB course forgiveness policy will be used in calculating the grade point average. A minimum of nine semester hours in the major must be taken at UAB.
Please note: You must consult with your advisor (James Grimes) each semester to determine which chemistry courses will be most applicable to your interests and career goals.
