Chapman, Alison A.
Alison A. Chapman (Ph.D. University of Pennsylvania) teaches English Renaissance literature with a particular focus on the poetry and prose of the period. She has secondary interests in Shakespeare and the history of the book. Her research focuses on the cultural aftereffects of the Reformation and England’s formal rejection of Catholicism. She has published in Renaissance Quarterly, SEL: Studies in English Literature 1500-1900, and Journal for Medieval and Early Modern Studies. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Renaissance Poetry and Prose, Shakespeare, Milton, British Literature to 1800, and composition.
