Jennifer Young (B.A. Whittier College, M. A. Tulane University) comes to UAB having taught at Tulane University and the University of Montevallo. She specializes in late 19th and early 20th century American literature, though her interests include early American literature, modernism, gender studies, and genre studies. Her dissertation explores the “extra-generic” literary techniques employed by muckraking journalists and novelists at the turn of the 20th century. At UAB she teaches freshman composition and general literature courses.
