Guthrie, Ron

Ron Guthrie (M.A., University of Alabama at Birmingham, 2009) teaches freshman composition and literature survey courses. His graduate course work focused on literary studies to complement his undergraduate concentration in creative writing. Ron’s thesis examined the development of female characters in Stephen King’s novels during the first thirty years of his career. Ron is an avid reader of modern American and British literature, especially epic fantasy and horror, and when he is not teaching, he can usually be found working on his novel-in-progress. Ron has been active in animal rescue since his youth. Away from campus, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son and their extended family of seven dogs and six cats at their home in rural Etowah County.
