Jessee, Margaret Jay

Margaret Jay Jessee (PhD, University of Arizona, 2012) specializes in 19th- and early 20th-century American literature with research interests in gender and sexuality studies, aesthetics and narrative theory, and the transatlantic novel. Her publications include journal articles in JML: Journal of Modern Literature and Nathaniel Hawthorne Review as well as a chapter in Writing Public Lives: From Personal Interests to Public Rhetoric (Hayden-McNeil, 2010). At UAB, she teaches composition courses and literature surveys.
