Cook, Susan

Susan Cook (M.A., University of Alabama at Birmingham, 2012) specializes in 19th century American and British literature, with additional interest in composition pedagogy. She has served as a magazine copy editor and volunteered as a reading and writing tutor for the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home. As a graduate student, Susan was also the recipient of the John S. Coley award in English. When not teaching, she enjoys travelling and writing while also finding time to pursue her primary hobby of theatre. Having been involved in many productions in the Birmingham area, Susan enjoys the opportunity to bring literature to life through the stage. At UAB she teaches both freshman composition and literature survey courses.
