The UAB Department of Anthropology presents "A Short History of Mexico’s Drug War," a lecture by Dr. Chris Kyle, Associate Professor of Anthropology at UAB.
Join us as Dr. Chris Kyle discusses his research on narcotics production and distribution and violent crime in southern Mexico. Kyle’s research uses GIS mapping software to analyze spatial and temporal patterns in the incidence of organized criminal activity. He hopes his research will allow others to understand the underlying causes of the violence and its impact on social life in Mexican communities, and possibly lead to effective strategies to deal with it.
