UAB Faculty Recital of Premieres, featuring James Zingara, DMA, trumpet, 12:20 p.m., in UAB’s Mary Culp Hulsey Recital Hall, 950 13th St. South.

The concert will feature a new chamber work by theory/composition UAB Department of Music Associate Professor William Price, DMA, and a multimedia work, “Dresden,” by American composer Jeffrey Boehm. Price’s “Ich bin Maroon” for clarinet, trumpet and piano will feature UAB faculty members Denise Gainey, DMA, clarinet, Zingara and Department of Music accompanist Chris Steele, DMA, piano. Boehm, based in Bath, England, will “attend” the performance and provide pre-performance commentary via Skype from Bath Spa University.
