Whether you are looking for a fun way to spark your child's interest in science or just a fun weekend activity, Mad Scientist Day 2014 is perfect for you. This event features over 30 scientific demonstrations. Each demonstration is a fun new experience and offers the opportunity to explain the basic scientific principles it involves.

The event is free and open to anyone in the greater Birmingham community. Activities will be kid friendly and fun for all ages. The event will begin at 10am and end at 4:00 pm. Free snacks will be provided. Parents should note that some demonstrations at the event can be messy so children should be dressed with that in mind. Students should also wear long pants and shirts with sleeves (short sleeves are fine). Protective goggles will be required as a precaution and good scientific practice.

Who We Are:
Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and at Birmingham Southern are local chapters associated with a national organization called the ACS.
