Description

Each month, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of English hosts a book discussion titled BookTalk. Led by an English instructor or professor, the meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month from 6-7 p.m. in the Henley Room on the 2nd floor of the Mervyn Sterne Library, 917 13th Street S. The events are free and open to the public:

Oct. 1 – Randy Blythe, Ph.D.: “Three Tales” by Gustave Flaubert
Nov. 5 – Jay Jessee, Ph.D.: “A Lost Lady” by Willa Cather
Dec. 3 – Miriam Bellis, Ph.D.: “Straight Man” by Richard Russo
Feb. 4 – Danny Siegel, Ph.D.: “N.W.” by Zadie Smith
March 4 – Cassandra Ellis, Ph.D.: “The Art of Fielding” by Chad Harbach
