John Decker was seduced by the mysteries of the brain because "It's a relatively young field, and there are a lot of good questions that are unanswered." But the freshman from Bangor, Pennsylvania, had a limited number of options when it came to majoring in neuroscience as an undergraduate. UAB's Undergraduate Neuroscience Program attracted him because of its small size. "I felt that would mean more one-on-one advising from professors and more help getting into research labs," Decker says.
