On August 16 fast-track student Zachariah Ingram gave a presentation on Isoperimetric inequalities on bounded plane domains at the Alabama School of Math and Science, of which he is an alumnus.
Dr. Paul Jung joined the Faculty as an Assistant Professor on August 15. Dr. Jung is an expert in probability theory and statistical mechanics. He received his degree in 2003 from the University of California, Los Angeles under the direction of Thomas Liggett. He then spent four years at Cornell University, two years as a researcher at the investment firm Susquehanna International Group, and two years as Assistant Professor at Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea, before coming to UAB.
Ali Al-Sharadqah accepted a Visiting Assistant Professor position at the University of Mississippi.
