Undergraduate Program

We have developed this section of  information primarily for psychology majors, to help them make the most of their experience in the Department of Psychology at UAB.  You will also find useful information here if you are a minor in Psychology or are simply interested in our undergraduate program.

As a psychology major, you have many opportunities available to you, but as in many of life's endeavors, what you get out of this experience depends on what you put into it.  Moreover, with nearly 1000 current and prospective UAB students declaring Psychology as their major at any given time, advisor time is limited.  Therefore, it's important for you to be proactive in finding the information you need.  You are visiting this web page, and that's an excellent start!

The UAB Department of Psychology is justifiably proud of the national and international reputations of its research scientists. We also take pride in the quality of instruction that we provide at all levels, as well as our computer and other facilities that support that instruction.

For most students, earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology will not be easy.  However, gaining knowledge of behavior as you work toward your career goals, and getting to know the faculty and your fellow students, can be satisfying and exciting experiences.  We encourage you to participate as fully as possible in the life of our department as you pursue academic excellence in your coursework.  Your efforts will greatly enrich your experience as a student at UAB.
