Grassroots Shakespeare Alabama

Grassroots Shakespeare Alabama continues to bring quality theatre to parks and public spaces all over Birmingham. Describing themselves as "a pop-up, outdoor theatre company bringing free and accessible Shakespeare," the troupe has performed in beautiful spots all around Birmingham, including Crestwood Park, Caldwell Park, Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Railroad Park, and Avondale Park.

This summer's shows were the tried-and-true favorites "Romeo and Juliet" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Both shows were produced and performed by Theatre UAB students and alumni -- including Taylor Dole (R&J/Midsummer), Jared Funderburg (Midsummer/Producer), Brady Grimm (R&J), Leah Hudspeth (R&J/Midsummer/Producer), Alex Ingram (Midsummer), Alora King (Midsummer/Producer), Renita Lewis (R&J/Producer), Kelsey McClure (Production Manager), Tony Morse (Midsummer), Ali Ribe (R&J), Taylor Richardson (R&J/Midsummer/Producer), Allison Shackelford (R&J/Producer), Julia Spring (R&J/Midsummer/Producer),
