Christina Crowe joins UAB as the Media Specialist supporting the Center for Clinical & Translational Science. She has a master's degree in print journalism from the University of Southern California. While a student, she worked as marketing and communications intern for a large area community college, and served as editor of USC's then-nascent Online Journalism Review. Christina worked for the Los Angeles Times, the South Bay's Daily Breeze newspaper, and served in Copley News Service's downtown Los Angeles bureau. Christina also wrote for the Daily Journal, a legal newspaper in Southern California. At the University of Illinois, she earned dual degrees in English and French, and spent a year living and working in Paris. Before starting her master's program, Christina attended New York University's Summer Publishing program.
In Birmingham Christina has worked for al.com, the web affiliate of the Birmingham News, the Huntsville Times, and the Mobile Press-Register; as project manager for Menasha Ridge Press, a local travel book publishing company; and as staff writer and editor of Black & White. In her free time, Christina enjoys making frequent forays into the great outdoors with her family.
