CTSA Consortium Pilot Funding

To promote consortium-wide collaboration in translational research, the Translational Key Function Committee has developed a Collaborative Pilot Grant RFP.  This RFP aims to foster collaboration in translational pilot projects involving multiple CTSAs and position collaborating researchers for future translational funding opportunities.  Proposed projects can range from T1-T4 research and proposals will be accepted at any time.  Projects must involve investigators at two or more institutions with an active CTSA.  Applicants at each collaborating institution must have a full-time faculty appointment.

collaboration.jpgBecause each institution participating in this program decides how much funding will be devoted, the available funding will vary depending on the institutions of the investigators.  It is anticipated that funds in the range from $10,000 to $25,000 direct costs per project per participating institution may be available for these projects.  The total funding available for a particular collaborative project will depend on the number of participating institutions and the level of funding that each decides to devote to the program.

Before submitting a collaborative pilot grant proposal, the applicant at each institution is required to obtain approval for submission from his or her CTSA.  This approval indicates that the parent CTSA finds the project to fit within its scope of interest and that it would consider funding if the collaborative application is ranked highly.  For more information, please contact Cheryl Perry.
