Deep South Network for Translational Research (DSNTR) Core Facilities Pilot Program

The Deep South Network for Translational Research (DSNTR) was formed in 2010 to establish a sustainable research infrastructure in the Deep South.  Funding from an NIH supplement has allowed for the support of multi-institutional pilot projects.  To date, two projects have been funded:
  • Minolfa Prieto, MD, PhD (Tulane) and Edgar Jaimes, MD (UAB)
Relevance of Urinary Renin,  Prorenin, and TGF-beta in Patients with Diabetes and Hypertension: Impact of Gender
  • Joao de Andrade, MD (UAB) and Joseph Lasky, MD (Tulane)
RNA Splicing Variants in Lung Fibrogenesis
The current RFA is seeking human-based T1 translational research proposals for its collaborative Core Facilities Pilot Program.  Proposals that involve community-based research or a community-based component to help ameliorate health disparities are preferred.  Institutional partnerships are required.  The deadline for applications is Tuesday, July 31st.
