Pilot Programs

Pilot Programs

Historically, our center has funded pilot research through one of two programs:
Our Translational Research Intramural Grant Program funds new interdisciplinary clinical and translational research projects to grow mature research programs in these areas. One-year, $60,000 awards are funded each year through a two-step proposal process - preproposal and invited full proposals. For current awardees, visit the 2013 page to access progress reporting and a calendar of due dates.  To see our list of all pilot awardees, click here.
In addition, through the Drug Discovery and Development Program applicants may apply for $50,000 in direct costs per year for up to 2 years, with funding of Year 2 dependent on progress made in Year 1. Awards are provided annually with network partner Southern Research, a not-for-profit institution with an internationally-recognized track record in drug discovery and development.

The CCTS partnered with the Minority Health Research Center to fund six Charles Barkley Health Disparities Research awards. For information about other funding opportunities, click here.

No matter the source of funding for a pilot and feasibility award,

we can help!

The CCTS BERD team will collaborate in the design of pilot proposals as well as in their review before submission.
