The CCTS supports a number of important core resources.  Some provide specialized equipment used to conduct analyses, and all provide personnel with scientific expertise.  These resources include:

  • Sample Processing and Analytic Nexus (including specimen processing, analytical measures of circulating analytes, and genomic DNA extractions)
  • UAB Biorepositories
  • Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design assistance
  • Comparative Effectiveness Research Core
  • Exercise Medicine Cores (clinical exercise facility and core muscle research laboratory)
