CCTS Partners

Regional Partners

The CCTS has expanded our Deep South Network for Translational Research (DSNTR) to create formal partnerships with regional institutions for mutual benefit.  Based on the initial success of the DSNTR, the CCTS is working with regional partners to facilitate and promote unique opportunities, including drug discovery and development (with Southern Research, Auburn and South Alabama), integrative genomics (with HudsonAlpha), advanced magnetic resonance imaging (with Auburn) and substantial experience with participant populations having disparities in clinical outcomes (LSU, Mississippi, Pennington, South Alabama, Tulane, Tuscaloosa, Tuskegee).  We are also partnering with the Atlanta Clinical and Translational Science Institute on drug discovery and other initiatives.partners with emory.png

Local Partners

Through our One Great Community initiative we have reached out to our local community through the CCTS-facilitated Community Council and its three standing committees on Research, Education and Communications.  We have also created a Wonderful World of Research video, produced by the Council to describe the benefits of biomedical research, and have spearheaded health-oriented neighborhood projects (e.g., the Healthy Change in Your Community Challenge).  A Neighborhood Leaders Health survey has been used to identify the health issues of greatest concern (e.g., lack of sidewalks and parks, diabetes and hypertension) to help guide Community Health Innovation Awards.
