CCTS/COCD Pilot Program

The Translational Research Intramural (Pilot) Grant Program is a partnership between the CCTS and the Council of Center Directors (COCD).  The Council of Center Directors (COCD) is comprised of the Directors of all University-Wide Interdisciplinary Research Centers (UWIRCs). The goal of the program is to develop investigator-initiated pilot projects with a focus on creating new interdisciplinary clinical and translational research projects at UAB in order to grow mature research programs in these areas.

A two-step proposal process includes a pre-proposal application/review in the fall with selected applicants invited to submit full applications. The preproposal process is closed.

A secure Pilot Studies site is the portal for application and internal review.

Full applications are by invitation; the 2013 RFA and full application forms package are available.  Consultation forms for BERD are found here.

Leadership.
The pilot program is led by Dr. Richard M. Allman and Dr Kent T. Keyser.  An NIH-style review is conducted with the Pilot Steering Committee serving as the scientific review committee for applications.
