This pilot program is a partnership between our Center and the Council of Center Directors (COCD) at UAB. The COCD is made up of Directors from all of the University-Wide Interdisciplinary Research Centers (UWIRCs). Co-sponsors may also include centers, departments and schools from UAB and any of the network partners.
The goal of the program is to develop new investigator-initiated pilot projects that may grow into mature programs. Faculty are invited to apply. A two-step proposal process includes a pre-proposal application; full applications are by invitation.
Applications and reviews are submitted through our secure Pilot Studies site. An NIH-style review is conducted with the Pilot Steering Committee serving as the scientific review committee for applications.
