CRSP provides a pool of trained, certified research coordinators to assist investigators with study implementation, including interpretation and adherence to regulatory requirements, organizational and budget management, communication with sponsors, internal quality measures, and data management. Resource pooling provides flexibility and limits the need for individual investigators or programs to overstaff in order to handle sporadic needs. Additionally, trained, experienced research staff are capable of managing and implementing research studies more efficiently and effectively.
CRSP personnel have office space near the CRU, and in close proximity to UAB Hospital, The Kirklin Clinic, the Birmingham VA Medical Center, and Children’s Hospital. Though office space provides for some basic administrative needs, CRSP personnel function in a flexible manner and provide services when and where needed. Most services and support are conducted at the study investigator’s site. If you are interested in pursuing CRSP support, please contact
Penny Jester (205-996-7800).
CRSP also provides assistance with Investigational New Drug (IND) and Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) applications. For more information on this service, click
