Developing and Presenting Abstracts and Posters for Scientific Conferences:
the how's and the why's

Professor, Div of Preventive Medicine, UAB School of Medicine

Dr. Glasser is a Professor in the Division of Preventive Medicine, and Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology in the UAB School of Public Health.  A cardiologist and clinical pharmacologist, his research interests include clinical research methodology, arterial stiffness and cardiovascular disease clinical trials.  He has extensive experience in numerous clinical trials, including hypertension clinical trials, serving as a site and multi-center principal investigator.  He has extensive experience in multi-center protocol development.  A list of representative publications is here

We were pleased to host a full room for this presentation.  Slides will be posted on this page soon. 

We designed the PSTP to teach practical, professional skills needed for research. 

This includes grant writing (how to plan and write research, career development, and fellowship applications);  sharing research findings (writing abstracts and manuscripts, and giving scientific presentations);  plus important skills such as leadership, mentoring and creativity.
