Certificate Programs

  • The Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) Lexis is a free, 10-week moderated online course designed to: introduce learners to clinical and translational research concepts such as clinical research design, statistics, ethics; inform decisions about careers in clinical and translational research; and help non-research-oriented professionals understand the basics so that they can contribute more effectively to research teams.
  • The CTS Training Program is a 6-month, 50-hour program designed to provide a more comprehensive introduction to clinical and translational research.
  • The Certificate Program in Translational and Molecular Sciences is open to all students in an MS, PhD, or MD/PhD program who commit to including 12 credit hours of coursework relevant to Translational Science as part of their degree program.  (Certificate awarded by the UAB Gradate School) 
  • The Research Coordinator Training Program provides study coordinators with the basics of good clinical practice, research compliance, and other key topics.

The Professional Skills Training Program (PSTP) is a monthly series that provides information on scientific writing, presentations, career development and leadership. Sheduled every month on the 2nd  Thursday at 8 a.m., view the 2013 seminar calendar for more information.  

The Secondary Data Analysis Seminars & Health Services, Outcomes and Effectiveness Research Methods Seminars are held the 1st Thursday of the month at noon.
