The second cycle of PFAs from the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) has officially opened with letters of intent due on October 15, 2012 and applications due December 17, 2012.
As was done for the first cycle of awards earlier this year,CAMAC, CCC, CCTS, CFA, CFAR, CFRB, COERE, HCGS, MHRC, and UCDC are sponsoring an information session that is open to the entire UAB community. The session will be held in Shelby 105 on Wednesday, October 10th at 9:00am.
As part of this session, a few of the investigators that submitted PCORI grants for the first cycle will discuss their experience with the PCORI submission process and how they addressed some of the unique aspects of the PFAs such as engagement of stakeholders. The session is also intended to raise awareness of PCORI and the funding opportunities as well as the UAB assets (i.e. data sources, IT resources, etc.) available for grant applications responding to the announcements.
The PCORI presents an excellent and unique opportunity for funding in outcomes, effectiveness and translational research and we strongly encourage all UAB investigators to review the PFAs (http://www.pcori.org/funding-opportunities/funding-announcements/) and attend the overview session on October 10th.
Below you will find information about the PCORI funding announcements, upcoming PCOR workshops, and the recently awarded UAB PCOR K12 (Dr. Kenneth Saag and Dr. Mona Fouad, Co-PIs).
If you have questions about the session, please contact Jeffrey Foster (fosterau@uab.edu) or Ryan Outman (routman@uab.edu).
