Birmingham, Ala. (May 4, 2012) —Approximately 100 children between the ages of 7 and 13 from the greater Birmingham area have worked their way through a program designed to educate them on how healthy eating and healthy, active lifestyles can be fun.
On Thursday, May 10, those children will come together at the McWane Science Center in downtown Birmingham to celebrate completion of the Healthy Change in Your Community Challenge, now in its second year. The challenge kicked off in September 2011 with five groups of children from around the Greater Birmingham area taking part. Each group was given an opportunity tolearn about the science of health and nutrition, and to design and implement their own community-based health projects.
