Join us for the Professional Skills Training Program, "Where Do New Drugs Come From? An Introduction to Drug Discovery and Development," led by Maaike Everts, PhD. 11:30 a.m.–12:45 p.m. Thursday, June 14. West Pavilion, Room E.

This program will:
    1.    Introduce the drug discovery and development pipeline
    2.    Explain target identification and validation
    3.    Touch upon high-throughput screening
    4.    Describe medicinal chemistry and lead optimization
    5.    Give examples of each of the topics mentioned above by describing projects ongoing in the Alabama Drug Discovery Alliance
