The Center membership is comprised of its Executive Committee and over 200 Center investigators from 33 different Departments (and 10 divisions within the Department of Medicine) and nine schools within the University. These investigators have secondary faculty appointments within the Center as they might in any other academic department. The Center investigators participate in the Center's interdisciplinary research activities through Interdisciplinary Research Programs and workgroups. Investigators who are currently involved in HIV/AIDS research are invited to join the CFAR. Membership is awarded upon submission of a nomination letter or email from a current CFAR member (Current CFAR members list) to

Membership is awarded to those who receive funding through our developmental core pilot grant initiatives. The executive committee oversees the membership process. CFAR members receive funding and seminar notices related to HIV/AIDS research, potential collaborative efforts and opportunities to join interdisciplinary research groups (IRGs) that fit within their research interests via the UABCFAR Listserv. Information of interest to the community is posted our facebook page (search: UAB Center for AIDS Research).
